"Fedora Dice"
The dice tumble across the jungle green felt
spinning on edge like Harrison Ford
grappling to a precipice wondering if
he’ll be thrown the cord of salvation
or be thrust into the pit of uncertain doom.
I hope I’m in as little danger as a Summer movie-star
but as the dice fall in rapid slow-motion
I close one eye.
